A range of movies in a historic locale!

Why locals love it

Spazio Alfieri was once a storied art-house cinema in Florence. It closed down for quite some time and reopened at the beginning of 2014 with an updated twist. Florentines and adoptive locals love classing up any occasion and movie nights are no exception: you can enjoy a cocktail or a glass of prosecco in the bar (Zazie) before your film starts.

Why you should visit it

Hidden on a sidestreet between Santa Croce and Sant'Ambrogio, they show an assortment of films in a range of languages—not the newest, but Italian classics (often in collaboration with an international university), shorts, documentaries, and more. The program varies seasonally and they frequently have directors and screenwriters as guests.
