Housed in a converted woodworker's studio, it's a cafe by day and a lively bar by night. With a solid roster of regulars, you're bound to see familiar faces playing chess or chatting with the baristas.
Why you should visit it
Volume's cozy ambiance encourages lingering. During the day, it's one of the few places where you can leisurely sip a cappuccino as you read or work. At aperitivo time (happy hour), enjoy a plate of finger foods over a bitter Negroni and better conversation. Seating can be scarce, but there's an upside: mingling with the locals is made easier!
Special tip
The staff is somewhat famously aloof, but they make a mean Moscow mule! Make it your nightcap—the bar is open late across all seasons.
