Togehter with the Solzer and "Zur Sonne" the Buchwald forms the trinity of excellent applewine taverns in Bornheim. Their food (esp, the escalopes) are of course great and the applewine is plenty. But what they also offer is a variety of fancy brandies such as cinnamon-apple-brandy.

Why you should visit it
If you want to have an original experience, go there. It's not as big and crowded as the Solzer's and it's a bit hidden from the main street (but known by the locals nonetheless). The staff is relaxed and friendly.
