Bornheim in Frankfurt
Why locals love it
Bornheim used to be a small village where people went to celebrate in pubs and brothels outside of Frankfurt until it was "incorporated" into the city in 1877. Still, it is a place for amusement with a lot of bars, pubs, cafés, and restaurants (less brothels, though).
Why you should visit it
Besides partying there is a lot of shopping you can do. At the lower Berger Street there are some interesting stores with individual concepts. At Ostpark you can take a walk, do sports or just relax. Every year, the Buddhist community celebrate their Vesak-Festival there.
The restaurants and pubs at the upper end of the Berger Street are usually less crowded and still very nice.
