De Appelier is a restaurant that has been in Ghent since the eighties and has been loved by Ghentians ever since. They serve honest and delicious vegetarian meals for a good price and their backyard is perfect during sunny days. Booking a table in advance is a good idea, since it can be really busy. You can of course also opt for the take away.

Why you should visit it
The menu is limited, since you can only choose between the dish of the day (small, normal or extra large), the pasta of the day (only in the evening) and two salads. However, their dish of the day is always really varied (two types of grain, a piece of quiche or a vegetarian burger and many vegetables).
Special tip
The portions are large and filling, so think twice before you order the extra large dish of day.
