De Bijenkorf2
Why locals love it
The Hague affiliate of department store De Bijenkorf opened in 1926. Its building has been designed by architect Piet Kramer and contains several beautifull stained glass windows. In present time De Bijenkorf is still one of the leading department stores in The Netherlands with several stores accross the country.

Why you should visit it
De Bijenkorf really is a nice department store. To see the ninetheen twenties stained glass windows you should take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator though.
Special tip
The nearby store HEMA has been founded by the same people as De Bijenkorf. Opposite to De Bijenkorf, HEMA used to be known as a 'poor mans shop'.
