The Wasserkunst is a good opportunity for crossing the Leine-river when walking along. I love the steel bridge from 1915 especially in autumn and the white building with its gothic little towers.. which will be now renovated.

The Gate was built in 1696, when they needed water with high pressure for the big fountain (formerly 35 m, nowadays 85 m high) in Herrenhäuser Gärten. They impounded the Leine-river and inside the building are wheels and stuff for getting the water. For the ships the arranged the canal
