Bánh cuốn is made from a thin, wide sheet of steamed fermented[2] rice batter filled with a mixture of cooked seasoned ground pork, minced wood ear mushroom, and minced shallots. Sides for this dish usually consist of chả lụa (Vietnamese pork sausage), sliced cucumber, and bean sprouts, with the dipping sauce which is fish sauce called nước chấm.
Yummy banh cuon! We ordered the pork, chiken and shrimp. The restaurant is clean and well lit. I just think they can add more meat filling to the rice crepe to make it even tastier. Still love it tho. We are going back for sure!
Banh cuon is a dish from Northern Vietnam and it simply means ‘rolled cake’ or ‘rice noodle rolls’ which is similar to our chee cheong in Singapore
