In the queue leading up to the mausoleum you are not allowed to take any photos and obviously not in the mausoleum itself. However after the visit you can approach the entrance from the other side and take photos of the outside from a discreet distance. Only other experience was a visit to Lenin’s tomb in Moscow so a similar experience to that.
