Why locals love it
Pho Bat Dan on the assumptions that if people are prepared to wait to get served and the majority of the customers are local then it must be a good place. We were not wrong. Excellent Beef Pho (they also serve other Pho). Do not be put off by other reviewers. Yes, it can feel intimidating to grab a corner of someone’s table and squeeze.
Why you should visit it
Pho - sadly the meat was very fatty and tough, and the greens were lacking in both flavour and quantity. The broth is decent but in no way does this substantially elevate it above many other places selling Pho in Hanoi. I guess for the price you cannot really complain and the main reason to come here is for the “experience”, but there are so so.

Read the reviews about poor/rude service and unclean cutlery - not sure what you expect from a shack on a side street in an EM country when you’re pay
