The Arabian Porcelain Factory was established in 1873, and started its operations the following year. The aim was selling porcelain to Russia market. The Factories noticable landmark is it's 50 meter high barrel of the factory block. Below this barrel there's Relief called "Porcelain Painters", made in 1943 by Michael Schilk.
Arabia is an important part of the Finnish cultural heritage. We Finns usually forget that the Swedish porcelain factory is the main influence behind it all in 18th century. At the end of the 19th century, Sweden was eager to grow into the Russian markets, Finland was at that time apart of Russian and accessible for Swedes.
At present, the building serves as a shopping mall, that has multiple and various shops, cafeterias and restaurants.
