The beautiful Hakasalmi villa was the home of Aurora Karamz in Helsinki until hers death. Karamz was well-known aristocrat and benefactor in Finland. She was one of the richest women in Finland and Russia. Twice widowed, she spent large amount of hers wealth on helping the poor. As the result the Deaconess Institute in Finland was born.
