Why locals love it
Herttoniemenranta was in the center of Miljöö2000-technology competition, that was organized to design new housing. New solutions were tested, to improve building technologies and flat housing. Accessibility and adaptability were taken into account in many block ideas.
Why you should visit it
One of the test houses,Laivalahdenportti 3, which surface material is mainly steel, might not be the prettiest house in the block. However, steel is durable in the salty sea climate as well for it's advantage is also good sound insulation. Property has details in which are ship themed. Designed by Antti Katajamäki.
