The Museum is owned by the Hotel and Restaurant Museum Foundation. The Foundation established the Museum in 1971. The purpose of the museum is to promote the hospitality, tourism and food industries, as well as food and drink culture, and to convey information about their development and change.

Why you should visit it
The Museum is represented by the Haaga Institute Foundation, the PAM Association of Service Industries, the Alko Oy, the Association of Hotels and Restaurants Museum and the Finnish Museum Association. The museum is supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the City of Helsinki.
Special tip
The collections consist of objects, photographs, archives and a handbook. The material is from the 18th century to the present.
