Spiritual Stop At the Churches Cafe

Mikael Agricolan kirkko

Why locals love it

The tower of a red bricks in the Punavuori district is an integral part of the Helsinki skyline. The architect Lars Sonck's designed Mikael Agricola's Church was built between 1933 and 1935, is mainly functional in style. The church tower rises to 103 meters above sea level and, if necessary, its 30-meter peak can be lowered.

Why you should visit it

The interior of the Church has been painted by decorative artist Bruno Tikkanen. The altar cabinet on the altar table is also Tikkanen's work. The church also has an enclosed courtyard, where a café that runs all year round in the church spreads out during the summer.

Special tip
