Not many of Helsinki's wooden buildings remain, as back in the day residents liked to burn their toast (and hence their buildings) fairly regularly. This is one of the very few places where you can come and have some (unburnt) toast and a quiet pint in an historic setting and a really local atmosphere.
Situated in one of the few surviving wooden house districts of Helsinki, this atmospheric corner bar is worth visiting for its beautiful surroundings alone. Beer is the main thing on the menu here, but you can also grab a light snack as you soak uo the ultra-Finnishness of it all.
It's a little hidden and not in the party centre of town but worth the stroll.
