Transportation in Helsinki

Looks like there is no Uber in Helsinki, is this correct? If so, are taxis plentiful and easy to get on the streets at all times? Or do I have to call in advance for a taxi? Not really interested in bus as only in town for 2 1/2 days so must be efficient. Staying at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel, appears to be next to a casino. Any transportation tips appreciated. Thanks! Fran

Your hotel is in a very central location so many things are within walking distance. Also there is a taxi queue in front of the casino, so you should have no problem getting a taxi. Uber is supposed to be coming back probably in July or August after the taxi laws are changing. Public transport is also convenient and you can use the "HSL Mobile ticket" app to buy tickets ahead of time. Anyway, taxis should not be a problem to get except for sometimes during bar closing times or during some big events, when the queues can be long.

At the moment there is no UBER in Helsinki. Your hotel is quite in the city center and I recommend to use public transportation which is most efficient way to travel in the city, tram,bus,metro... If you like to use taxi of course find easyly from your hotel and taxi stations or call common taxi station number to call on your address.

Uber will come to Helsinki at July, but until then you need to use taxi. I also recommend public transportation which is very efficient, safe and and popular among locals, no matter of your social class.
It is really easy to move arround with trams,I would recommend that. There is a raxi station with 1 minute walk from your hotel. Trains are also conve.uent if you do.not want to use buses. Receotion will give you timetables and tickets can be bought from kiosks and automats.

The center of Helsinki is quite small as Anne-Marie already told. Using taxi is not too cheap and it is probably faster to walk in the center or use trams.

There is no uber anymore.
