Not much open on the 25th but bars and clubs have normal opening hours on the 26th. The new sauna loyly is open on the 26th definitely worth a visit. Check out the website to see what it has to offer

Thanks Matthew !
Loyly sauna and restaurant looks great !
Museums might be closed because it is a public holiday. I am not sure. Bars and restaurants will be open. Some might be closed though. Clubs probably will be open. Families will be out doing activities though during the day. Cross country skiing can be found just outside of Helsinki. You can take a bus/uber to get you there. Or ice skating. If that is too far I would suggest these two below. Outdoor pool and Sauna. Food and drinks available too.

Loyly sauna and restaurant looks great...
Unfortunately, Allaseapool is closed for maintenance...
You mention ice skating, where can we do that in Helsinki city ? any address you recommend ?
...and you also mention 'cross-country skying just outside Helsinki'. Any address ? (taking into account that I will need to rent the skis at the place)
Museums I would doubt. It is a public holiday and many things like this are closed. I do think there will be bars and restaurants that are open. Many people are out doing some other types of actives with families during the day. Ice Skating, cross country skiing are very popular. You could do something VERY finnish and visit the outdoor sea pool and bay side saunas.

You can also get something to eat and traditional Finnish food here:

This is the outdoor pool/sauna. It is THE Finnish thing to do.

Hi! It's Christmas time over here and museums definitely will be closed, so most of stores, bars and restaurants. But some places might be opened.

Hi,
I'm afraid any of the museums won't be open. But if you are interested, i found this place open: www.heureka.fi/en

Most of the bars should be open, don't worry! :)

Thank you Inga !
The Planetarium at Heureka could be a good option if I am freezing in the city !
Regarding clubs, what are your recommendations for rock music ? and for bars ? ( I mean just your 2 preferred ones, not a list !)
Sorry, i don't go to clubs much. But maybe you could give a try for this place: http://rocks.fi/english/
It's just in the downtown, easy to find and pretty nice.

This bar is comfy as well: http://www.aussiebar.net/helsinki/#events

If you want to have a long list of different beers, try one of these two places:

Here you can sit nicely on a couch:

And here you can dance on the tables:

Seems most of the rock clubs are playing something completely different on christmas (nosturi, semifinal, tavastia at least), but basic rock bars with would be On the rocks, bar loose and bar base. For cheaper bars, crawl around Kallio, for more fancy beer places maybe Punavuori (Tommyknocker, Lehto, Bierbier, Brewdog, Birrificio), though anywhere is quite nice.

(also rock bars maybe bar bäkkäri, riff, and the scariest of them all, Boothill)

Usually bars and nightclubs are open on both of those days!

You can check the museum opening hours from their websites. Some museums & art galleries: Kiasma, Ateneum, HAM, Taidehalli.
