Hi Ole! So happy you are visiting our beautiful capital! You should definitely check out Suomenlinna and it’s caves. Take a ferry from Kauppatori. There are also archipedago cruises available. You could take a day trip visiting Suomenlinna, Lonna and Vartiosaari, you can visit all with same ticket. Lonna is a tiny island with a sauna. Go there and swin in the sea. More swimming: Hietaranta beach and Kumpulan maauimala (outdoor swimming pool). If you are a hiker, visit Nuuksio. The local tourist info can help you plan a route according to your skill level. Pick some blueberries while there.

My fav museums are Kiasma and Ateneum. Ateneum has loads of Finnish art throughout last 200 years, Kiasma is contemporary. EMMA is located in Espoo, it’s an old (I think 60’s print house and) worth seeing. There are also public saunas in Helsinki. They are fun relic of the past and very hip at the moment. Visit e.g. Arlan sauna and buy their cool t-shirt as a souvenir. Climb Stadionin torni (olympic stadium tower) and again, swim in swimming stadion (uimastadion). More swimming and hanging out places: Löyly and Allas sea pool. In Kallio you will find lots of cheap places to eat. If you want to shop, there are lots of malls: Iso Omena (in Espoo by metro), Jumbo (in Vantaa by bus, next to Flamingo spa btw), kampin kauppakeskus and Forum in the center and Itis (in Itäkeskus by metro). Next to Itis is Puhos shopping centre with lots of exotic and cheap foor stores help by people originating outside Finland. And with kids: Hoplop centers are cool indoor playgrounds. Hope you enjoy your visit!

Recommending to get a list of places you wish to visit. HSL app is a must - this app includes all the bus schedules around the Helsinki area. You can buy tickets, seek routes and time schedules inside the Helsinki Metropolitan area.

To get into the Finnish culture would be visiting a public Sauna and take a dip in the ocean while enjoying the relaxation with other people, also a good way to ask other opportunities and tips from Finns. Or ask questions about Finland and our life.

For you daughter might be interesting visiting Amusement Park Linnanmäki, Zoo Korkeasaari or Zoo Tropicario as well Farm Zoo Haltiala. As well just get into a Central Park as Finland is a land of Wilderness. Best would be Central Parks northern section of the park, it represents Finnish Nature at it's best, also is lovely to walk along on a sunny day.

For the culture side everyone wants to visit the Tuomiokirkko at the Senaatintori Square, next to the square there the Helsinki City Museum. Finnish National History Museum has stories of the Finland's 100 years of independence. Finnish National Nature History Museum tells about nature and has a vast collection of animals. Science Museum Heureka lets kids to get into the wolrd of science, lets adults to learn new and have fun for a day. Toy Museum at Espoo has a collection of toys throughout the history. All these museums are fitting for kids also as well for adults.

Hi there! How old is your daughter?
Renting a kayak or sub could be fun to do in one evening? I recommend cafe Regatta close to Sibelius monument. There you rent gear and have a coffee/ cakes. Very cute spot!

Depending on the weather, try the Unesco World Heritage Suomenlinna - a lovely place for a day piknik just 15 minutes from the market square with local commuter ferry. And of course, the most bizarre thing: visit local sauna - for instance the Allas Sea Pool near the ferry mentioned. Then, visit also Rock Church, most beautiful church in Helsinki, entry fee 3€.
