Come for lunch to Qulma (www.qulma.fi) Affordable and really good food! We also sell signed copies of The Helsinki Book (I run the restaurant and wrote the book) www.thehelsinkibook.com

I think Konstan molja is your place (http://www.konstanmolja.fi/english) . You can taste finnish food but only for dinner. It is a buffet and it costs 19 euros per person and it is really worth.

Hei. My favourite restaurant for traditional Finnish food is "Salve" in Hietalahti. The Baltic Herring with mashed potatoes is a must!
The portion sizes are so huge that we normally skip having starters, making the cost a bit more economical.
The atmosphere is very friendly & relaxing.

It's just a couple of tram stops (no.6) from the center and is easy to find.

Highly recommended.
