I'm heading to Helsinki to cover the Flow Festival. Any suggestions for nightclubs/bars that skew more toward the 30-something crowd? Looking to avoid teenage/young 20's spots.

I might be late with my answer, but try Kaarle XI or "Raffaello's terassi" (aka. Mummotunneli)

Hi Jack,

You can try to these places in central Helsinki, usually me an my 30-something friends feel comfortable partying till late in these places:
Los Cojones (https://fi-fi.facebook.com/LosCojonesHelsinki/)
Navy Jerrys (http://navyjerrys.fi/)
Loose (http://barloose.com/index.php?lang=en) This is a rock bar and there is usually live music downstairs earlier in the evening, but at midnight downstairs turns to "Disco", where Dj:s play all kind of music, but usually not the now popular radio hits.

Hello!

Well it depends what kind of music you enjoy? Near Flow there is Kaiku club (house, edm etc) and the official (?) after party is in Ääniwalli (different djs). Very typical club for over 30's is Kaarle XII (in the center of Hki), they have different rooms for hit music and finnish music (good place to observe finnish way of partying).

If you prefer bars instead just jump in to Kallio district (near Flow) and you'll find several bars, bohemian athmosphere and lot of people!

Enjoy your visit & Flow!

Hi Jack, I would at least try Restaurant&Bar Groteski in the city centre area which is also popular as an after work place.

Very close to Flow there is the Teurastamo area with places like the Helsinki Distilling Company and their Distillery Bar... not really a club but a nice place with good brews...

I would say that in Bar Siltanen and Club Kaiku right next to it in the Kallio District are places where international visitors from all ages (also 30+ :) ) get together.

As a matter of fact we have listed some of the best places in Helsinki on our website:
