In 1836, Nikolai Sinebrychoff bought additional land next to the plot he already owned in Hietalahti, an area known as Sinebrychoff's Park. In 1865, a warehouse building called Siberia was excavated into the rock of the park. A red-brick octagonal tower was built next to it.
The warehouse was demolished in the 1960s from the park, the three-story tower is still standing. There is no certainty as to the original use of the tower. Perhaps the reason for the design of the claw-headed, neo-Gothic tower was aesthetic: as an original element in the park view.
