Description

The tour starts in front of the Old Market Hall, where you’ll get a great overview of the local cuisine. You’ll sense the aromas of cured salmon, local cheese, and smoked reindeer, among others. Afterwards, your guide will give you some local tips at the Market Square.

During the tour you’ll stroll along the most beautiful streets in the city centre, including Esplanadi and Bulevardi. You’ll also pass through the Helsinki Design District and the idyllic art nouveau neighbourhood of Punavuori. The tour ends at the Hietalahti Market Hall, where you can buy organic and local delicacies. Hietalahti also has also a flea market outside in the summer, and a direct tram connection to the heart of the city.

Along the way you’ll get to taste Finnish specialities from selected spots: fish, coffee, local pastries, reindeer, salmiakki (Finnish salty liquorice), chocolate, local cheese, fresh bread, and healthy treats full of vitamins. At each of the stops you’ll have time for shopping. Many products can be vacuum-packed, so you can take some goodies home with you!
