Why locals love it

At Laanila, a Bishop's Stone has been erected along the highway to commemorate the grim events of World War II. In 1943 at this place a Russian paratrooper attacked a bus traveling north. Bishop of Oulu Yrjö Aukusti Wallinmaa, Miss Ruth Kjäld, Mrs. Aune Hiltunen were killed in the attack, and a driver, Paavo Nyqv, died after to his wounds.
