Cabin is located in the immediate vicinity of the Saariselkä tourist center, about 100 meters from the marked trails. It has been moved to its present location near the former postal path, the present Inari - Kittilä road. Its former location housed reindeer herders and hikers.
Overnight stays are often said to have awakened at night in strange noises that could never have been seen by the eye. The story tells us that the roommate is believed to have been haunted. Nowadays, the campsite is a day hut for camping. About 150 m to the north of the house is Kelo-ditch hut and a wooden shed.
