Ritaköngäs is an officially unnamed, estimated 15-meter waterfall that rumbles in a stream called Ritaoja south of the Ivalojoki River in Hammastunturi. The waterfall flows at the bottom of a small north-south canyon east of Iisalmenvaara, approximately 500 meters south of the Ivalojoki river bank.
The water collects from the small streams and lakes of Iisalmenvaara and the adjacent Ristiinanmorosto. This magnificent rugged waterfall is not marked on the map, nor is there any guidance to the destination. The track must be hiked less than 2 km, in which case the track turns into a small forest path.
Follow this trail for about 1.5 km, after which you turn left towards the steepness of the Ivalojoki canyon.
