Why locals love it

Ferries are the most popular form of public transport in Istanbul for one simple reason – if you’re a local, you’re always in a hurry except when you’re on a ferry travelling from one side of the city to the other. You have around 20 minutes to enjoy amazing views of the Bosphorus over a cup of Turkish tea.

Why you should visit it

Not only are ferries part of Istanbul’s identity and good public transport options, they’re also a great way to do some sightseeing, with terminals near Topkapi Palace, the Maiden's Tower and the Galata Tower.

Special tip

The most picturesque time to take the ferry is at dusk.
Don't forget to have a cup of tea!

Pure magic, let the Bosphorus wash away all your troubles at least for 30 minutes.
