Description
The shores of Kaunas reservoir is the place I spent my summers growing up.
You choose the place, we pick you up. The trip itself starts with the geological trail of Žiegždriai. There you can marvel at the panoramical views from atop the steep slopes of the shores of Kaunas reservoir. Some of the geological sights are suffosion circuses, exposures of conglomerate and varved clay.
If there is a demand, there is a possibility to book a horseback ride from a ranch in Žiegždriai (not included in the price).
We will travel to reach natural spring and brook at Laumėnai. There are legends about 'laumės' (Baltic water fairies) shrounding it (hence the name). We will rest a bit on the campsite and prepare open fire cooked lunch.
Afterwards, we will visit forest and swamp reserve in Dubrava. First, we will cross the pristine forest, which is left in natures command. This will give us a glimps on how the european landscape looked like before humans (and how it might look afer we are gone). Then you will be able to marvel at the out of this world sights of pristine swamp landscape without getting your feet wet (there is a wooden path for the visitors).
