First, you will learn to separate cream from whole cow milk using a traditional hand-operated milk separator machine. Then you will make butter from it. Afterwards you will learn to make traditional cottage cheese from naturally skimmed milk. The key point of the workshop is the making of traditional spiced butter and sour-cream spread, called 'kastinys'. We will make it the traditional way - using a wooden spoon. We will taste 'kastiny' the way it is always eaten in Lithuania - with still hot unpeeled boiled potatoes, cauliflower or other vegetables. To satisfy your hunger, we will prepare very delicious cottage cheese pancaktes, which are eaten with sourcream, butter jam or freshly crushed berries. To quench your thirst we will prepare traditional acorn 'coffee' drink.
