The Byzantine Aqueduct it was built to bring fresh water to the old town of Kavala (Panagia). Apart from its vital significance for the city, it is also interesting to look at it and observe the way each one of its arches are made.

Hard to miss it, you can see it from different angles (especially at the top of the castle tower). The structure still stands in all its glory with modern roadways and gardens beside the arches.
Even in the hottest or most humid evenings of summer this is the spot where there is always shade and a small breeze.
