The Bay of Bothnia is mainly a summer destination. The Perämeri's National Park is especially suitable for boaters: you need your own boat or boat ride to get to explore the area better. No special services for the disabled. In winter, the nearest islands can be reached by skiing and snowmobiling.
The islands in the Perämeri's National Park ,soon after the islands rose from the sea, have been temporarily inhabited as early as the late 16th or early 17th century. Ancient remains, or signs of human activity, can be seen on many islands in the national park area.
