In the Finnish Calendar, Salla's name day is celebrated annually on 19th of July. On this day a handsome market event is organised in Salla. There is plenty to do for both adults and children, holidaymakers and locals alike. Salla's Day is Lapland's largest annual homeland festival. Salla's Day is visited by thousands of people every year.
Why you should visit it
The market event is in the vicinity of the municipal office from 10 am. Traditionally, the main stage program includes music, speeches and various performances. During the day, the winner of the Cultural Award of the Year will be selected and successful athletes will be awarded. A more detailed program will be published in early July.
