Soultijoki's Lumberjack Base

Why locals love it

The Suoltijoki pirtti is an impressive monument of large post-World War II savosts in a barren small river valley surrounded by fells and hills. The building stock characteristic of Lapland's forest areas and river valleys is the Lumberjack Era bases and other structures. Swimming became more common in the 1890s and continued in Kemijoki until 1991
