Why locals love it

This old house was built in 1941 by Ryosuke Matano who achieved a greater success in maritime industry. It’s is designated as a tangible cultural property of the nation. Locals feel nostalgic here because this house remains a lot how the Japanese houses used to be.

Why you should visit it

This is in the Maiko Park. It’ll be fun half day activity to visit here along with Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and stroll in the park. Most importantly, you can experience the classic Japanese house without staying an expensive Ryokan (Japanese style hotel). Admission is only ¥100/person.

Special tip

Close every Monday. Close Tuesday instead of Monday in case Monday is national holiday.
