The Struve Geodetic Arc is a triangular chain between the Arctic Ocean and the Black Sea. It explored the shape and size of the globe between 1816-1855. Six of the 34 selected World Heritage sites are located in Sweden.

Mount Jupukka has one of the measuring points of the World Heritage Site, the Struve meridian arc. The view from the grassy peak is a mile wide in beautiful weather. The nature reserve also includes the Poronmaanjänkkä swamp, which has rich flora.
