Egg rolls play a big role in the culture of Bengali street food. At about every 500 meters in the city, you will find roadside stalls selling egg rolls, albeit with varying degrees of hygiene (no hygiene at all). Thin pitta bread, egg filling, size-able dosage of cucumbers and onions, layered on top with tomato and chili sauce makes an egg roll.

Freshly prepared egg rolls rolling on tawa (the hot plate where the pitta bread is fried in oil along with eggs' white and yolk) is the most unique street food in Kolkata, eaten by probably a million in a single day on the streets. If you have usual medicines for acidity and stomach-upset in your travel pouch, give this a go.
