Zakopane is a popular town in southern Poland near the Slovakian border. It lies in a valley between the Tatra Mountains and Gubałówka Hill.
In winter, Zakopane attracts visitors with its excellent conditions for winter sports including alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding and ski jumping. In summer, people head to Zakopane to hike and climb.
The town’s main street, Krupówki, is lined with shops, restaurants, carnival rides and performers. Here, you can buy unique Zakopane souvenirs.
Zakopane is located about 100 kilometres from Krakow and the drive takes about two hours. When you reach the township, your driver will show you the most popular attractions (the ski jumps, the beautiful little Jaszczurówka Chapel and the main street). You’ll then have free time for shopping and lunch.
Your driver will pick you up from your hotel, apartment or hostel and take you directly to Zakopane. They’ll wait for you in Zakopane for as long as you wish and drive you back to your preferred destination in Krakow.
