Was attending the Polish Folk and Music night dinner that this restaurant puts on in its basement. Truly magical night and well worth every penny! Me and all my friends attended a week ago and I am still getting them telling me how much they enjoyed themselves. Great food and good priced drinks.

Highlights

Enjoy a traditional Polish folk show in atmospheric surrounds,Savour a delicious two-course dinner of regional Polish cuisine,Learn about local folklore and legends

Description

The evening consists of two parts. Led by a choreographer, professional dancers will perform Polish folk dances and introduce guests to local traditions and legends. The performance is followed by a two-course regional dinner. After the meal, guests are invited to join in and dance to music performed by professional folk musicians.

The show takes place in the unique atmosphere of “Michalik's Cave” – a favourite hangout of local bohemians. Conveniently located close to college and university buildings, it became a meeting place for writers, artists and journalists soon after opening in 1895. Some relics of the past have remained to this day: walls decorated with paintings, caricatures of artist, a satirical nativity scene and stained glass windows.

The perforamnce was interesting and and the foreign friend of mine really enjoyed the dance with the members of the folk band. The traditional polish songs the band played were entertaining and kept us amused. The only part we didn't find as good as we expected was the food. Since the Jama Michalika is really famous and fancy restaurant, it would be desirable to serve more sophisticated and more tasty meals. In general the evening was fun for us and we will recommend it to our friends.
Polish Folk Show & Dinner, Krakow - July 2017
Booked online and arrived half an hour earlier to obtain a good seat and redeemed our paperwork. We were seated comfortably near the stage, but then the waiter came back to us and questioned whether our paperwork was actually a ticket (which it was so problem solved), but annoying. We had also spoken to him the previous afternoon as we did a recce on the location. We then placed our dinner orders, but although being the first to do so, we were actually the last to be served by which time our food was cold. A group of four people who had just turned up on the night were fussed over and then had finished their dinner long before ours even arrived! The entertainment was fairly good, but a lot of audience participation.
