After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the great Georgian tea industry almost fell apart completely. Many tea plantations were abandoned, and villages were left without work.
I, together with seven other slightly crazy people from the Baltics, have decided to rehabilitate several plantations with the goal of reviving the Georgian tea industry and bringing some of the villages back to life.
So far, we’ve managed to rehabilitate a 17-hectare plantation near Kutaisi, get our factory up and running, and even produce some of our first teas.
I’d love to show you around and talk more about the history and future of Georgian tea!
