Why locals love it
Sledding slopes on the Kuusamo are mainly located at Ruka center: notice that slopes are permitted only at designated locations and at specific times. More information from Ruka info service. Ruka village sleding slopes; Front sledge slope, Maston sledge slope and Snow Tubing are open.
Why you should visit it
The wheel sled is available on slopes 5, 16 and 18 in the evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm from Saturday to Thursday from December to April (fees apply, ticket sales begin at 7pm, limited number of sleds).
Special tip
Kuusamo downtown sledding hill; open on natural snow: The "teletub" of the sports center (Kitkantie 42).
