Why locals love it
Solid ancient remains are protected under Finnish law. It is forbidden to dig, cover, alter, damage, remove or otherwise interfere with a solid ancient relic without permission. If there is a fear that the object will be damaged during movement, the find must be left at the site and reported to the authorities.
Why you should visit it
Anyone who finds a historical object whose owner is unknown and which can be presumed to be at least a hundred years old must immediately submit the object as it is to the Archaeological Commission. Other information, such as the location of the discovery and the circumstances, is also important information. The object must not be cleaned.
After notification, the place will be sedated without delay and must not be tampered with, until the authorities decision.
