Why locals love it
My favourite place to spontaneously visit in the evening because 1) the tickets are cheap (often as cheap as 3$/ticket) 2) place is ridiculously small that's why the placing is not that important (very often you would be invited to change your seat from the balcony to the main floor since the latter is often half empty).

Why you should visit it
In short: great concerts for humble prices. Spotting old ladies who visit the place on a regular basis is a sight in itself (old intelligentsia and Soviet patina combo). Jazz lovers can catch a relevant concert here as well.
Special tip
it's better to print out your tickets since the venue doesn't have scanners for etickets.
