Description

Spend a wonderful time on a fun and interesting workshop learning how to make traditional Ukrainian Easter eggs!

This form of folk art has a long history that dates back to the pre-Christian era. It’s believed that decorating your house with pysanka will bring happiness and prosperity.

An friendly local artist will explain the meanings of each of the colours and symbols used to decorate the eggs. You’ll then learn how to decorate eggs with wax, natural dyes and fire.

This workshop is an excellent way to discover Ukrainian traditions. Plus, you’ll take home a unique souvenir that will remind you of your time in Kyiv!

My daughter found this online and we decided to try it since it was Easter Week during our vacation to Kiev. Very skeptical when arriving at the apartment. After two minutes we were very comfortable and learned a bit of this amazing art. Very informative and interactive. Kids and adults loved it. The drivers were also amazing.
Unique Experience
for Easter Egg-Painting Workshop in Kyiv
A driver picked us up at our apartment and took us to Тетяна's apartment. There she told us the history of the pysanka egg painting, based on covering the egg with wax and then immersing it on different colorants. She showed us how to do it and then we could choose a pattern that the we would like to reproduce by ourselves. We had so much fun getting to paint the eggs in that old Ukrainian technique and we were proud of the result. This workshop was one of the highlights of our trip to Kiev and we recommend it to everyone trying to experience a real Ukrainian tradition.
