Why locals love it

Grant Street opened its doors on the 4th of July, 1980 with two legendary south Louisiana bands gracing the stage that night, Red Beans & Rice Revue and the late King of Zydeco Clifton Chenier & his Red Hot Louisiana Band. Playing guitar with both bands that night was Sonny Landreth, who recently recorded in and named his 7th album after the club

Why you should visit it

Grant Street Dancehall is a beautiful 100 year old brick and cypress honky tonk built originally as a fruit warehouse. Lots of culture here. Easily accessible by walking and bicycling, and close to the Atakapa-Ishak Bicycle Trail.
