Why locals love it

This is a historical promenade by the river Bernesga. The legend tells that in the X century the King of León and his son where walking near the river. The prince wanted some cherries and asked the king to buy some from a woman selling them close by. This led to the name "Papa-la-guinda" literally, "Dad, the cherry".

Why you should visit it

Walk under the shade of the trees and sit by the promenade to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. You can descend to a lower path closer to the river and cross to the south-western part of the city. There are some public exercise machines along the promenade if you are feeling sporty.
