It is a beautiful Renaissance building. The "Plaza de San Marcos" in front is full of knee-height-tall water fountains. The "San Marcos" bridge from the 12th century crosses the river Bernesga beside the hotel. You can then walk down the "Paseo Condesa Sagasta" towards the "Guzman el Bueno" fountain.
