Why locals love it
The Convento de San Marcos was a convent in León, Spain. Today it is an operating luxury hotel. It also contains a consecrated church and museum, and is one of the most important monuments of the Renaissance in Spain.
Why you should visit it
It is a beautiful Renaissance building. The "Plaza de San Marcos" in front is full of knee-height-tall water fountains. The "San Marcos" bridge from the 12th century crosses the river Bernesga beside the hotel. You can then walk down the "Paseo Condesa Sagasta" towards the "Guzman el Bueno" fountain.
