I believe that is almost impossible to be Portuguese and not like eating cakes, with so many offers that we can find. The famous Portuguese custard tarts are probably the oldest ones and this place has the original ones, made according a secret recipe.

Why you should visit it
Yes, it’s a very much known place and yes, there is a considerable queue to buy the custards; but is mandatory to taste these historical tarts that exist since 1837, when this confectionery was founded. You must have two, at least, they will arrive warm and they are delicious.
Special tip
It can be faster if you enter and try to find a seat in one of the nice tiled rooms inside. Don’t forget to sprinkle with cinnamon and icing sugar.
