Why locals love it

A very nice garden with two playgrounds, a kindergarten, a day centre, a City Library’s kiosk, a bandstand (once the scene of philharmonic concerts) and terrace café.

Why you should visit it

A garden from the XIX century, built in the style of the English gardens of romantic inspiration. Back in 1870, an African explorer (Paiva Raposo) offered a lion, which was the main attraction till his death. There is an artificial hill overlooking the river, an underground cave, lakes and cascade.

Special tip

The bandstand that can be found at Estrela garden, is the oldest one in Lisbon.

Not very famous park, full of local portugueses and with a very chill relaxed vibe.

A lovely garden which is worth the visit especially if you intend to take Tram 28 up to Graça. There is a tram stop between the garden and the Basilica da Estrela church.

It's one of the most beautiful gardens in Lisbon. You can also visit the church in front of it. It's on the route of the tram 28.
