Why locals love it

This market, also known as 24th July’s Market, is the largest market in the city, being the main Lisbon market since its opening in 1892. With a big dome of oriental inspiration and with an iron interior.

Why you should visit it

On the ground floor, the market is still in operation, where you can find fresh fruit, vegetables and flowers. In another area, there are temporary and periodic exhibitions.

Special tip

Every Saturday from 11 am to 8pm, holds up the Creative and Flea Market. And on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, dances take place.

A bit overcrowded with tourists (especially on the summer), but you can find chef meals for really low prices (around 10-15€)

Great place to see full range of fresh produce and have a great meal from one of twenty or thirty different food outlets and restaurants. Can't go wrong... fun place to visit, meet, eat...
