This neighborhood lies in the heart of the city, between Amoreiras, Estrela and Prazeres. It is a residential neighborhood, still with a great weight of traditional commerce. It is considered as the most pacific neighborhood in Lisbon and the one that brings together the best life conditions.
Why you should visit it
Pay a visit to the Santo Condestável’s Church, emblematic monument in the neighborhood, designed by Vasco Regaleira, the architect of the “new churches” and unfortunately it was demolished the “Cinema Europa” from the architect Antero Ferreira and with a sculpture by Euclides Vaz.
Special tip
There is a pastry called “The Best Chocolate Cake in the World” at Coelho da Rocha Street, 99 (next to the market), try it and say if it’s true.
